The Polish Bar's Pantone Color of the Year - Orchid 2014

Yes, this is wicked late.  I'm very aware of that, buuuuuuut the sun was not cooperating with me last week, so I wasn't able to get photos until this weekend.  I had intended to put this up on Monday since The Polish Bar's Spring Collection restock was on Monday, but I'm super lame...  There are still plenty of her lovely new releases listed at her store, so you should definitely go and grab them all ASAP.  Seriously.  Let's get to the review of Orchid 2014 so you can hurry and go buy it.  All photos are in natural sunlight.

Color:  Bright orchid purple with a strong blue flash.

Finish:  Holographic – pigment gives polish a rainbow in the sunshine.

Bottle / Brush:  Round mini bottle – wand and brush are just long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle.  However, the fact that it’s a mini makes application a little tricky.  Requires a steady hand to apply evenly without pooling.

Opacity:  Medium – achieves opacity at three to four coats.  Here, I've used three coats without a topcoat so you can see just how shiny Orchid 2014 finishes.

Glitter Application:  N/A

Consistency:  Medium – applies easily and doesn't flood the cuticles.

Overall Ease of Application:  Easy – applies well without pooling, dragging, streaking, or balding.  Spreads evenly and smoothly.

Stampability:  Not tested for stamping.

Dry Time:  Long – dry to the touch with minimal smudging in over 8 minutes.  Keep in mind, though, that I did not wear this polish with a quick dry topcoat.  

Overall Thoughts:  Holy wow.  I swear, this Spring Collection is full of some serious stunners.  Orchid 2014 is another vivid linear holographic with a stunning and bright flash. My favorite part has to be the blue flash.  It's subtle at first, and then it just takes over and creates such a gorgeous depth.  It's yet another holo that is unique to my collection, which is difficult to find these days.  Application was so easy, and the finish was gorgeously glossy all on its own without any help from a topcoat.  I do recommend using a quick dry topcoat because it has a bit of a long dry time.    Other than that, though, I don't have any other complaints, and it's not a real complaint as it would've dried faster with a quick dry topcoat.
